Make a Difference Project

I chose my topic by researching places that helped homeless people. I decided to donate to The Road Home because I liked how they gave shelter to homeless people. I also liked how they took donations from people that are willing to give.
In the beginning of my project I didn’t know where to donate to and so I had to research places that helped homeless people. When I found The Road Home I knew that this was the right place to donate to. In the beginning I didn’t know that The Road Home gave shelter to homeless people.
A few obstacles I faced while doing my service project was procrastination and getting my materials on time. When I bought the blankets I had to wait a couple days to get them. I overcame this obstacle by staying calm and being patient.
My project relates to the theme Making a Difference by giving homeless people a chance to start a new life. This can help so many people in ways where they can’t pay you back. Also donating money to a great cause can change even more lives.
“The best antidote I know for worry is work. The best cure for weariness is the challenge of helping someone who is even more tired. One of the great ironies of life is this: He or she who serves almost always benefits more than he or she who is served.”

“To really change the world, we have to help people change the way they see things. Global betterment is a mental process, not one that requires huge sums of money or a high level of authority. Change has to be psychological. So if you want to see real change, stay persistent in educating humanity on how similar we all are than different. Don't only strive to be the change you want to see in the world, but also help all those around you see the world through commonalities of the heart so that they would want to change with you. This is how humanity will evolve to become better. This is how you can change the world. The language of the heart is mankind's main common language.”
